Bringing chocolate and creativity together is the world’s first make-your-own KitKat shop in Tokyo

There’s nowhere else I want to be as much as I’d love to be at the Miyashita Park entertainment complex opened in Tokyo’s Shibuya district. August 4th is the grand opening of Miyashita Park’s KitKat Chocolatory where fans of the chocolate can bring their sweet tooth and creativity to create the KitKat of a lifetime. Tokyo’s fourth KitKat Chocolatory, the Miyashita Park branch is leaving no stone unturned to make this experience a special one for patrons with the make-your-own KitKat program! It’s the first of its kind in the world where participants of My KitKat program start by picking what kind of couverture chocolate they want to use from flavors like milk, bitter, or ruby. Once the chocolate is poured into the molds and topped with a crispy wafer it is finished by the pouring of delectable melted chocolate. The fun actually begins with toppings and the My KitKat program spoils you for choice with a whopping 17 options to choose from. Topping-lovers should know you can expect it all from regulars like hazelnut, coconut, dried raspberry, marshmallows, pretzels, silver dragées, to some unique options like edible flowers. While a KitKat with them all would be pretty crazy, unfortunately you can only pick three from this wide assortment.

The My KitKat program takes about 70 minutes and guests are given a cup of coffee or tea to enjoy as they create or wait. There are a few more decisions to be made before you sink your teeth into your chocolaty creation; six different box designs to pick from and which of the six My KitKat sessions will you attend? My KitKat sessions will be held every day, at 11:30 a.m. followed by sessions at 1:30, 3:30, 5:30, and 7:30 p.m. for $19.
