As part of its 250th anniversary, Hennessy has embarked on a worldwide tour of excellence, taking the Hennessy spirit to countries that have embraced the brand since it was first created in 1765. With it on this journey is a special ‘H250 blend’ made from specific handcrafted 250 barrels – perpetuating the tradition of celebratory blends.
The unique blend has been created by master blender Yann Fillioux and his Comité de Degustation with over 100 eaux-de-vie from the House Reserve, aged from 15 to 35 years. The 250 barrels have been handcrafted specifically for the occasion, each carrying 250 liters of this celebratory blend and have been resting in the founder’s cellar on the banks of the Charentes for the last five years. The H250 blend is a powerful and unique spicy flavor that carries aromatic tones of bitter orange and freshly grated nutmeg, licorice, dried peppermint leaf, and saffron, says Hennessy. Its carafe, designed by Stephanie Balini, draws inspiration from the sensual curves of the House’s timeless icon and its legacy. The pure lines of the sleek carafe stand in elegant contrast to its golden contents and reflect a radiant light as though it were cut from a single brilliant stone.
The special blend is priced at $260 for duty free outlets and $600 for retail. .
