From making bookings via Facebook to designing your own luggage tags, at KLM Royal Dutch Airlines it’s all about improving passenger experience. Starting December 10, the airline plans to roll out meals developed by the renowned Chef Onno Kokmeijer on their European Business Class flights. This is a first for the airline to bring a top chef onboard their European sector.
Chef Kokmeijer is the Executive Chef and Manager at the two-star restaurant Ciel Bleu at Hotel Okura Amsterdam. He, along with his Chef the Cuisine Arjan Speelman have developed the main lunch and dinner menus for the longer European flights to and from Amsterdam. The new menus will change with the winter and summer flight schedules and passengers will have a choice of two meals, which will change every week. The duo also designed the menus for KLM’s World Business Class in October 2013.
“It is an honor to be able to work with Chef Onno Kokmeijer again, this time on the meals for our longer European flights. We are looking forward to surprising our Business Class passengers on our European flights with culinary delights by one of the Netherlands’ leading chefs,” said Miriam Kartman, Executive Vice President Inflight Services at KLM.
Earlier in October, the airline also welcomed three-star Michelin chef Jacob Jan Boerma, to develop their World Business Class meals.
