Moving a step further from fashion to hospitality is Gucci with the opening of a new café and cocktail bar at its birthplace, i.e., Florence. It is titled Gucci Giardino 25 and presents guests with an opportunity to sip and dine in style.
Conceptualized by creative director Alessandro Michele, Gucci Giardino 25 is set in Florence’s Piazza della Signoria. It takes inspiration from the transient and delicate beauty of flowers and the luxury that the brand stands for.
Comprised of mustard yellow panels and vivid leather-upholstered peacock blue seating, the place offers quite a vibe. It features marble tabletops and counters and warm yet pleasing color tones, including a mix of off whites, wooden hues, and yellow.
Its menu consists of traditional local bites and a mix of international dishes. Food at the café is served throughout the day, from breakfast at 8 a.m. to dinner and light snacks until 1 a.m. As for drinks, guests can relish negronis, wine, and intoxicating cocktails, courtesy of mixologist Martina Bonci.
Commenting on the offerings, Bonci said, “My intent was to infuse our signature drinks with the creativity and codes of the House representing its beautiful complexity. Throughout the process, I was inspired by visits to the ArtLab (where prototypes of Gucci leather accessories are realized), the Gucci Archive, and the Gucci Garden Archetypes exhibition (currently on display at the Gucci Garden Gallery), which allowed me to fully dive into Gucci’s magical universe.
She further added, “The attention and care for raw materials, the burst of authentic colors, and passion for innovation are the values that guided me through the creation of the 12 drinks.” Noting further on Mèmoire di negroni, she said, “This drink has a true connection to the city, home to Gucci, and home to one of the most beautiful squares in the world, that now hosts Giardino 25.”
