If you’re a whiskey lover, you’re certainly are no stranger to the premium editions in the GOT single malt collection. And to mesmerize you with the best one last time, Diageo is now ready to launch the final addition called the Six Kingdoms- Mortlach to the lot. The exclusive single malt whiskey is aged 15 years and is expected to be one of best in the ensemble to date.
The Six Kingdoms – Mortlach is inspired by the finale of the show and pays tribute to the fate of fictional continent Westeros. A fine blend, it has been matured in first-fill Sherry-seasoned casks and finished in American oak ex-Bourbon casks which give it a “bold, smooth taste with notes of vanilla and spice.” It will be presented in a metallic gold canister complete with a pen and an ink drawing of the Three-Eyed Raven.
Commenting on the ninth and final edition, Jeff Peters, vice president, licensing and retail at HBO in a statement said, “Eight fantastic Scotches toasted the coming of the final season of the show, and we now look back on the most captivating television show of all time and raise a ninth glass in celebration.” Remarking on the Mortlach edition, Kavita Agarwal, Diageo global brand director, Malts further added, “Mortlach is one of our most sought-after super-premium single malts and seemed fitting as the perfect finale to complete the collection.”
The Game of Thrones inspired Six Kingdoms- Mortlach edition will be available in the US this December for $150 per 750ml. The whiskey can also be pre-ordered online for £120 (US$154.50) per 700ml on Amazon onward November 25.
