Back in the year, Hennessy teamed up with Felipe Pantone to design a very special limited-edition bottle that was used as part of a cocktail kit created by it in partnership with A$AP Ferg. And going by the success of their first stint together, the marquee has roped in Pantone once again for designing a new Collector’s Edition bottle for the season.
Boasting a minimalistic and pure design, the Collector’s Edition by Felipe Pantone pays tribute to the late artist Jesús Rafael Soto and is stunning masterpiece to say the least. In its new avatar, the bottle features a few variations from its summer 2019 design and doubles both as a new bottle design as well as configurable artwork. As described in a press release by Hennessy, the piece is presented on a “ carafe stand dressed in white at the center of the artwork, with multi-colored rods surrounding the piece, that can be interchanged to the observer’s desire.”
Commenting further on the collaboration, Pantone added, “I wanted to show how Hennessy lives intensely in the present. It may be a heritage brand but it’s bursting with dynamism,” He further added, “It may not be obvious at first, but there is a link between Hennessy Very Special and the configurable art aesthetic. It’s my way of illustrating that, just as you make Hennessy Very Special your own, this artwork is a piece that calls for the collector’s participation. Like street art, it’s immediate — you don’t need any formal art training, just be the artist of your own life and leave your mark.” The 2019 Hennessy Very Special Collector’s Edition by Felipe Pantone is priced at $1500 and will be available for purchase online via Clos19.
