Rapper and actor 50 Cent may have been distracting us all with his entertaining Instagram beefs over the past few weeks but behind the scenes he clearly had a big project on his hands. He first announced his upcoming Champagne brand Le Chemin du Roi back in April, but now it seems like the product has been launched officially.
Le Chemin du Roi is French for The Path of the King. 50 hammered the “king” point home by including with every bottle a 14 carat gold emblem that’s shaped like the king chess piece. The range reportedly includes a brut, rosé and blanc de blancs but only the rose has been launched so far with a price tag of $350. The bubbly is produced by Champagne Castelnau and distributed by Southern Wine & Spirits.
Alcohol and hip-hop have been linked for a while. 50 Cent’s brand promises competition for Jay-Z’s Armand de Brignac champagne as both occupy the music/champagne niche. Armand de Brignac also offers a brut, rosé and blanc de blancs.
On his Instagram, 50 Cent leaned into the “king” branding announcing that Le Chemin du Roi was for winners only.
