For over 200 odd years, Johnnie Walker bottles are serenated by the logo of a stylish man in a stride. But that is about to change soon, much to the liking of the feminists across the globe. In bridging the gap of gender inequality, the brand is all set to introduce the Jane Walker Edition of the Black Label, that aims at being an ode to all the wonder women in the world.
Coming in a limited edition, the bottles will display a top-hatted woman marching forward, with a cane in her hand, a symbol that marks a celebration of women and a goal to discard gender biases on the way forward. To voice the rationale behind Jane Walker, Stephanie Jacoby, vice president of Johnnie Walker stated, “We are proud to toast the many achievements of women and everyone on the journey towards progress in gender equality,”
Released in time for Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day, the brand will also donate proceeds ($250,000 in total) from the sale of the Jane Walker Edition to causes celebrating historical women and inspiring future female leaders as part of the ‘Keep Walking America’ campaign. Similarly, $150,000 will also be given away to Monumental Women, a campaign under the Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony Statue Fund that will construct monuments honoring woman suffragists, in New York’s Central Park. The exclusive Jane Walker will be available for $34 onward March and you’d be a fool if you miss out on buying this goddess!
