Louis XIII pays a tribute to its rich history with the time collection

The masters of cognac at Louis XIII have launched their Time Collection, this is a series of limited edition decanters that pays homage to the rich history of the label. The very first in the series is “The Origin – 1874”, which references the original decanter created for Louis XIII. The design of the decanter harks back to when Rémy Martin bought a royal flask unearthed by a farmer in a field near Jarnac.

This decanter features 13 (instead of 10) spikes or dentelles and also a central fleur-de-lys decorated in champagne gold. The glass bottle stopper is shaped like a mini inverted decanter topped by another fleur-de-lys. The decanter is housed in a metal coffret which boasts a woven texture on the front as a modern take on the wicker baskets that were originally used to transport Louis XIII.

Inside the beautiful decanter is an equally memorable blend of as many as 1,200 eaux-de-vie, the youngest of which is 40 years old. The grames all come from the exclusive Grand Champange region.
