Virgil Abloh and Evian continue the march towards suitability with the ‘Activate Movement’

Earlier in 2019, Virgil Abloh and water purveyor Evian released custom refillable glass bottles in an ode to promote sustainably. And in continuing their efforts, the two have now come up with unique environment-friendly editions under what they are calling the ‘Activate Movement’.

Designed as a carefully curated drive to save the environment, the ‘Activate Movement’ was announced at the New York Fashion Week this month. It will see the release of two refillable SOMA glass bottles in unique hues to represent the best in sustainable design. Alongside the glass bottles, Abloh will also launch an exclusive 750ml glass bottle which will feature an infinite loop of droplets to showcase how small actions can play an important role in creating change.

In addition to the ingenious items, the Evian and Abloh will also initiate the Activate Movement Program, which aims to encourage young designers to come up with unique solutions to meet the world’s environmental sustainability needs. The program applicants will be rewarded with a $54,746 USD grant for sustainability-focused design and innovation projects, and entries will be judged by Virgil Abloh himself along with an Evian representative and an expert panel.

Commenting on it, Abloh in a statement said – “We’re launching this Activate Movement concept that is a call to action from a young generation to make the world what they want it to be today.” Are the young guns of the world listening?
