Giving competition to the family who has an oversized six-screen video wall in their home for the Home of the Year Award is another entertainment addict family from Texas. To match up to the six-screen wall, this family from Texas has converted their basement room into an entertainment haven. The room has been designed by custom electronics pro Diem Digital Interiors from Carrollton, Texas. At first glance, the room appears to be just for billiards, or a home theater actually offers its occupants a variety of entertainment in the form of a disco, bar, karaoke, and a sports video wall. The video wall has three separate Panasonic plasmas placed side-by-side with the sound coming from the center plasma.
The Control4 video wall lets you watch three games at the same time. However, for bigger action, all you need to do is turn around as a 130-inch Screen Innovations screen fed by a 1080p SIM2 projector waits to entertain. Klipsch THX Ultra2 7.2 speaker system, with a Denon receiver and B&K Reference amplifier, provide the surround sound for this gigantic screen. For movie buffs, there is a Sony Blu-ray player that serves up the latest movies.
What is more, Diem outfitted this space as not only a sports bar and Movie Theater, but a true night club atmosphere. With the press of one button the theater turns into a ‘club-like’ atmosphere complete with flashing color lights and lasers. Guests can enjoy the atmosphere and dance to the tunes of the disco era. Simply amazing, with a room like this in your basement you would never want to leave your home.
