Rosenthal reinvents old charm in a new light with its porcelain lantern – “Nightingale”

While we have seen many luxury utilities by Rosenthal earlier, this time around the porcelain manufacturer has decided to please us with a unique new lamp called the “Nightingale”. The lamp culminates the traditional lantern design into a contemporary new look and will be presented in collaboration with the design brand – Dante Goods and Bads.

While the “Nightingale” is a powerhouse of aesthetics and technicalities alike, what stands out the most is the simplicity of its design. Circularly shaped, the lamp is made of a white porcelain inner rim with an outer leather rim for support. With the center of the circular framework housing the source of the LED light, it’s porcelain cover that acts as a natural reflector. Wrapping this illuminating circumference is the robust leather-strapped rim (available in Bordeaux, dark brown or natural leather), which apart from supporting the delicate porcelain piece and acting as a handle for the lamp, also supports in hiding the wiring which may very easily spoil its stellar like appearance. Further, the lampshade comes with a 90-degree rotating functionality that provides easy interaction between the light fitting and the reflecting surface.
This unique lamp will be made available in two sizes of 27 and 42 centimeters. Without over-complicating things, Rosenthal’s “Nightingale” is an epitome of a lampshade that is seamlessly impressing designers’ world over. Winning the jury’s hearts at the Red Dot design awards this year, this contemporary lamp bagged the coveted award for the best product design of the year. Available at $ 694 for the smaller version and $930 for the bigger one, you may as well consider buying this one if you echo back on our thoughts!
