From Bora Bora to Maldives here are the 21 most anticipated luxury beach resorts opening of 2017


8 – Four Seasons Surf Club, USA
Opening: March

The resort will only accommodate 77 guestrooms, yet boast 4 pools, an oceanfront spa with two outdoor cabanas, a hammam, and serenity lawns for your yoga routine. 3-Michelin-star chef Thomas Keller of The French Laundry will open his first Miami restaurant on the property and Antonio Sersale of Positano’s Le Sirenuse will showcase his first eatery outside of Italy. Elizabeth Taylor, Frank Sinatra, Grace Kelly, Winston Churchill and the Duke and Duchess of Windsor once were regulars of The Surf Club; Four Seasons is now opening the door to a new generation of elite.


7 – Rosewood Phuket, Thailand
Opening: 2017

Rosewood’s first resort in Asia will include 71 villas 32 residences located on one of the island’s last remaining areas for a secluded beach enclave. Guests should look forward to dining at the rustic Thai seafood restaurant on the beach, built with recycled teak wood. Sensespa, 4 swimming pools, health club, yoga pavilion, sea sports pavilion and tennis court will complete the entertainment offer.


6. Atlantis Sanya, China
Opening: April

After The Bahamas and Dubai, Atlantis is opening in Sanya, China’s beach resort destination and duty free shopping zone. The newest Atlantis offers larger-than-life water play, exotic marine exhibits, endless stretches of beaches and incredible dining experiences wrapped into one landmark destination. Despite building on successful historical elements, travelers to the Sanya resort will appreciate the Chinese cues applied to the rich décor.


5 – Park Hyatt St. Kitts, West Indies
Opening: Spring

The resort will have 125 guestrooms, with most suites offering individual rooftop pools and spectacular views of the volcanic Nevis Island, only 3 miles away. Located in a secluded area offering golden sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters, the Park Hyatt will introduce unique dining concepts at its 3 signature restaurants. This is the first Park Hyatt in the Caribbean.

4 – Six Senses Krabey Island, Cambodia
Opening: December

The resort is comprised of 40 pool villas scattered around the island. The Six Senses Krabey Island feels truly private and well envisioned: on top of fantastic accommodation and spa, you will enjoy Indochine restaurant’s communal dining table in front of the show kitchen; Cinema Paradiso: a poolside outdoor cinema featuring classic movies, and the observatory that will house an astronomical telescope and stargazing sessions with expert talks on the universe.


3 – Conrad Bora Bora Nui, French Polynesia
Opening: April

The first new resort to open in Bora Bora in 10 years, Conrad Bora Bora Nui will feature 29 tropical garden and beach villas and 86 overwater bungalows, including the destination’s only double-story Presidential Suites. Conrad Bora Bora Nui’s food and beverage concepts include a modern take on a French Brasserie, a specialty beach restaurant serving Polynesian and Mediterranean cuisines, a contemporary Chinese restaurant, a swim-up pool bar and an overwater sunset bar and lounge. Offering access to sea sports, coral reef dive sites and hiking trails, the beachfront Conrad Bora Bora Nui will also have a full-service spa, Kids Club, mini-golf course, fitness center, and retail spaces.

2 – Nobu Ryokan Malibu, USA
Opening: December

Much secrecy is kept around the property, opening beside Nobu Matsuhisa’s Malibu sushi restaurant on “Billionaire’s Beach”. Perched over the Pacific, the exclusive hideaway will offer 11 suites and 5 oceanfront bungalows with custom teak soaking tubs, fireplaces, contemporary interpretations of traditional tatami mats and shoji screens, and Pacific Ocean views – some will even get private outdoor Jacuzzis overlooking the ocean.


1 – Four Seasons Seychelles at Desroches Island, Seychelles
Opening: Late 2017

The only resort on the remote tropical island of Desroches in the Seychelles, this property will feature 40 exclusive beach suites and 11 private villas with direct access to unspoiled beaches and the azure waters of the Indian Ocean; suites will also feature private plunge pools, tropical gardens and luxurious outdoor living spaces. To complete the set of facilities, Four Seasons is including a Marine Conservation Discovery Centre and Giant Tortoise Sanctuary.
