China to experience a Ritz-Carlton style luxury boom


If only trees would grow as fast as skyscrapers and luxury hotels, but I guess we would have to settle for hotels now. Marriott International Inc is all set to double its Ritz-Carlton presence in China by 2015, to make it the numero uno luxury hotel in the country. Apart from the sic existing hotels in China, there are plans to up the number to eight by the end of 2010, and further plans include one in Chengdu by 2012. As per Reuters reports, the Marriott-brand hotels will see 15 hotels in China within the next five years, including China’s two top cities- Tianjin and Hangzhou.

The other places of interest in the chain of hotels include Bangkok, Sydney, and Taipei.
