Renowned Champagne house, Dom Perignon and Belmond Grand Hotel, Europe are all set to together offer a special caviar pairing experience at St. Petersburg’s sole caviar dine, The Caviar Bar & Restaurant.
Alexander Dmitriev, the city’s only vodka sommelier, joined hands with Dom Perignon’s Russain Ambassador, Alexey Mitrofanov, to concoct the finest contrasts and matches of champagne and caviar. The menu boasts of an impressive spread of 15 delectable varieties of caviar along with 12 selected Dom Perignon labels, which include a fine collection of Blanc and Rose as well as the P2 vintage 1998, the best of the vintage lot. Up for grabs is also the house’s unmissable signature dish, “Egg in Egg,” a truffle-infused egg scramble topped with osetra and salmon caviar. Apart from the widespread of Champagne and caviar, the selection also includes 35 top varieties of vodka, 15 distillates, and a few of Dmitriev’s homegrown liquors.
What’s more, you ask? To complement this unique caviar pairing experience, the Caviar Bar & Restaurant has done up a central table in distinctive 19th-century style, designed by Dior’s ex-stylist, Per Spook. The table perfectly complements the bar’s grand interiors and is large enough to accommodate up to 12 people at once. You can enjoy this culinary treat at £49 per glass and £325 per bottle for Dom Perignon’s 2006 vintage collection and around £49 for three eggshells for the house’s signature dish. With Belmond’s classic backdrop, this champagne and caviar duo is bound to set you on a gastronomical trance!
