From Mozambique to Hong Kong – These four luxury resorts offer extraordinary wellness treatments to recharge your batteries

Indulge and relax in Hong Kong, Hawaii, Switzerland and Mozambique – treat yourself to a rejuvenating spa programme or a superfood menu

It’s already August but there is still time to take a break and escape from the heat and humidity of Hong Kong. We have selected four hotels and resorts for you to consider:

The Landmark Mandarin Oriental spa’s Rasul Treatment is perfect for detoxication and relaxation.

1. The Landmark Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong
In the heat of summer, the Rasul Treatment from the Landmark Oriental’s spa can purify your body and relax your senses. Get rid of the unsightly flakes around chapped feet (thanks to all the walking in the city in this temperature!), and detoxify the body. You can have a good time catching up with your friends in the Rasul chamber while you are steaming away, all slathered in rich mineral mud, an age-old Moroccan ritual that is great for tightening the skin and improving blood circulation and metabolism.

2. The Sunrise Shack at Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort, Hawaii
“Feel happy, healthy and strong” – that is the motto of The Sunrise Shack in Hawaii, where delicious smoothie bowls come in desiccated coconut shells and where the menu is a superfood galore – all au naturel, of course. Founded by the Smith brothers, who are well-known as Hawaii’s top surfers, this new addition to the resort is in line with the resort’s surf and turf vibes – so if you are up for a little R&R Aloha style, swing by and grab a coconut chia pudding or American surfer Laird Hamilton’s version of the bullet coffee – nothing but coffee and a dash of coconut oil and grass-fed butter.

3. The Bürgenstock Resort Lake Luzern, Switzerland
The newly opened Bürgenstock Resort Lake Luzern is already garnering great reviews for its wellness and spa programmes. You can check out its gorgeous Instagram posts. We cannot say it any better than its managing director, Bruno H. Schöpfer: “We don’t just have the most exclusive spa in Europe; at the Bürgenstock Hotel & Alpine Spa, every guest room is an oasis of wellness with sublime views over the lake, with a double bathtub right next to a panorama window, a fireplace, rain showers and amenities by Bulgari.” We highly recommend lounging around the infinity pool after a great spa session. The pool is set 500 metres above the lake and offers a fantastic view of the surrounding Alpine lushness.

The Star Bed at the Anantara Medjumbe allows you to sleep under the stars and listen to the gentle sound of waves.

4. Anantara Medjumbe Island Resort, Mozambique
How do you take glamping to the next level on a remote African island? With a star bed thrown into the adventure, of course. Think five-star linen sheets upon a four-poster bed under a constellation of Orion’s belt and the gentle lullaby of waves lapping against the sandy shores. This is a perfect couple’s getaway. Embark on a 15-minute journey on a dhow boat through the Indian Ocean to start with, and then a sunrise stroll around the island to end (with a luxurious breakfast included).
