Six Senses makes an Icelandic debut with the uber-plush Össurá Valley Resort

When it comes to hospitality, few do it better than Six Senses. After spanning several countries with its ultra-luxurious resorts, hotels, and spas, the marquee is now set to make a debut in the most stunning locales of them all- Iceland. Entering the country with the exclusive Ossura Valley, the brand promises to bring in luxury and welcome to its beautiful landscape in true Six Senses style.

Spread across 4,000 acres of privately-owned land in Svínhólar near Lóni., the new Six Senses addition comes surrounded by a mountain range and the vast Össurá Valley and River. Its new location makes it ideal for experiences such as dog sledding, horseback riding, ice, and rock climbing, bird watching and boat trips that are ordinarily craved by visitors to the country. Slated to open in 2022, the first phase of the project will see the opening of a 70-guestroom resort and private cottages, all inclusive of the unique amenities and privileges that Six Senses is known for.

Commenting on the project, Neil Jacobs, CEO, Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas said, “This development epitomizes our commitment to finding locations where guests can be right in the heart of nature, and where they will come face-to-face with the raw beauty, power, and soul of this magical destination. It will also appeal to experience-seekers looking for something uniquely joyful and playful. Legend holds that mystical elves still occupy the rocks and cliffs of this land,” Icelandic Luxury cannot get any better than this!
