Starwood launches “1” a new hotel brand that focuses on luxury and green

While most hotels opt for recycling used towels and adding plants to the lobby, the Starwood group has taken environmental practices to another level altogether with the debut of their ecofriendly hospitality brand “1”. The concept of this brand is aimed combining the best of environmentally sustainable architecture and interior design with impeccable service and luxurious comfort.

1-hotel-2“1” will implement ecofriendly practices at all levels in order to ensure maximum sustainability. Think green construction and environment friendly practices. Another interesting aspect to their recent project is that 1% of their revenue will be contributed towards local environment organisations!

At first, guests may only observe the ecofriendly furnishings, the main aim is to implement practices that allow one to sleep, eat and relax naturally.

“1” has already made its debut in Miami with the 426 room 1 Hotels & Homes South Beach. Hotels are soon to be spotted in Manhattan and Brooklyn with upcoming hotels in Washington, Paris and Los Angeles.

Per night room tariffs range from $700 a night at Miami’s South Beach hotel.
