Spread over 19 acres, the stunning property offers 57 guest accommodations that overlook the valley and river. Restaurants that use local produce, wine library, two swimming pools and organic garden are some of the other features offered. The spacious Six Senses Spa offers 10 treatment rooms where guests can enjoy Six Senses’ speciality treatments and multi-day wellness programs some of which are grape and wine based as well as amenities like their heated indoor pool with water jets, an outdoor pool and refreshment bar and a gym with all the latest exercise equipment.

The Six Senses Douro Valley offers its guests some unique experiences like wine-influenced activities including wonderful wine and dine Douro River cruises, a wine certificate program and the chance to visit some of the nearby historic wineries. Guests can also take on the role of a winemaker for the day and in-season; participate in the age-old tradition of stomping the grapes to commence the vintage.

The accommodation ranges from Quinta Superior, Quinta Deluxe and Quinta River rooms, to spacious suites, apartments and villas with one, two and three bedrooms. The rooms feature traditional décor from a past era and all the modern comforts including air-conditioning, 48-inch flat panel TV, minibar, tea and coffee facilities and WiFi.

Our suite pick of the week is the Quinta Panorama Suite that offers breathtaking views over the Douro River from their panoramic (floor-to-ceiling) windows, a key feature of this suite. Located on the fifth floor, the suite consists of a comfortable living and sleeping area, a spacious bedroom with a king-size bed and a spacious bathroom with double sink and separate bathtub and shower. Amenities like a private minibar, IDD Telephone, espresso machine, tea and coffee making facilities, wireless internet and LAN cable access, 48-inch flat panel TV with satellite channels are also available.
