The Shangri-La Al Husn Resort & Spa, Muscat definitely features on my top ten resorts to stay in Muscat and here’s why. The beachfront hotel is one of Shangri-La’s three properties in the same complex, with Al Husn offering a more premium experience in terms of service, amenities and privileges. Nestled amidst a dramatic landscape of rugged mountains and white-washed beaches, the lavish property is kids-free and entails over 180 rooms and suites.
While each category of accommodation offers a luxurious experience, if you have the urge to splurge, we highly recommend the Jabreen Suite. A haven inspired by the 17th century Omani Castle in Jabreen, this suite is nothing short of royalty. Adorned with Omani artworks, this meticulously designed suite entails a private elevator and a round-the-clock butler service. Spanning an impressive 5,382 sq ft of utmost bliss, the suite offers the most beautiful views of the resort’s infinity pool and the Gulf of Oman. The one-bedroom suite is no ordinary suite! With an enviable position above the resort’s opulent central arch, the suite features two separate entrances, a reception entrance hall, dining room, a maijlis seating area, study, guest bathroom and mini-gym.
My most favourite element of the massive suite is the bathroom. Imagine sea views from the spacious bathroom which also entails a separate deep soak bath, walk-in shower and hot tub. Of course, a royal walk-in wardrobe graces your presence; the ultimate home for your couture.
The mini-bar and Nespresso machine and capsules is on the house. In addition to that, complimentary afternoon tea is served en-suite from 1545 hours to 1645 hours every day, while complimentary pre-dinner drinks and canapes are served en-suite from 1800 hours to 1900 hours daily.
