The Cenote Spa at Grand Hyatt Playa Del Carmen is the best designed spa in the world


Interior Design, the leading design magazine, has chosen Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen Resort’s Cenote Spa as its winner for the ‘Best of Year 2015’ project award. The 6,000-square-foot Spa, designed by the Sordo Madaleno Group is renowned for its originality, concept and innovation. It was picked from five finalists from around the world!

Cenotes is a natural sinkhole created where a cave ceiling has collapsed. It was the only source of water in the jungle for the Mayan civilization and are considered sacred by the Mayan people. At the Cenote Spa, the serenity and beauty of these iconic freshwater sinkholes have been captured in its design with a combination of intricate stonework detail, dramatic lighting and soothing textures. Guests are immediately relaxed as they step into the facility adorned in subdued tones, a rich color palate, tall ceilings and natural décor to complement the vibrant green of the surrounding protected mangrove jungle.

The Cenote Spa offers an array of massage, beauty and body treatments, manicures, pedicures, reflexology and more. It features eight treatment rooms including two double suites, hydrotherapy stations, a eucalyptus steam room, fiber optic chromo therapy showers, fitness center, 25m lap pool and a replicated Cenote relaxation area.
