The worlds largest underwater theme park is coming up in Bahrain and it will have its own sunken Boeing 747 Jumbo jet

Scuba Divers and water babies- get set to make your way to the emirate wonderland of Bahrain! In an ode to increase tourism and global footfall in the country, the nation is all set to open doors to its very first underwater theme park! Scheduled for a summer run, the park will serve as an attractive site for diving enthusiasts and will be one of the first to accommodate a giant-sized Boeing at the surface.

Spanning an area of more than 100,000 square meters, the park will feature a 70-meter decommissioned Boeing 747 aircraft, the largest of its kind ever to be submerged underwater. The diving area will also feature a traditional Bahraini pearl merchant’s house, artificial coral reefs and other figurines, each made from environmentally-friendly materials. The entire project is commissioned through a partnership with the Supreme Council for Environment, Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BREA) as well as the private sector of the country.

As also announced by the personal representative of His Majesty King Hamad, president of the Supreme Council for Environment, Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the park will facilitate preservation of marine life and will be a safe haven for coral reef growth. Just last year, the UAE has also announced plans to create a coral garden along the coast of Fujairah, a project that aims to make a Guinness Record for being in the largest of its kind in the world. High time you took those diving lessons seriously!
