If you thought that there is no more place for hotels in Dubai, you are far from wrong! After Armani, Marriot and Ritz Carlton, its time for those close to home to milk a rich cow. In a bid to create what might just be the biggest hotel in the United Arab Emirates, Al Habtoor Group is all set to launch its new hotel in Dubai with as many as 2,000 rooms! Set to be bigger than the Atlantis-The Palm, Dubai, with 1,539 rooms, the project currently in the preplanning stages will go underway soon.
There are four Habtoor Hotels in Dubai already, two in Beirut and the seventh 308-roomed Habtoor Island Resort & Spa, which will open this year at The Palm Jumeirah. The new mega project will be self-funded as Chairman Khalaf al Habtoor responded to The National of Abu Dhabi, saying, “I hate partnerships.” So much for modesty!
