Elsa Smith’s carbon fiber necklace with diamonds grabs the Red Dot Award

The world’s most well-known and important international product competition Red Dot Product Design Award just got a new owner. And the proud recipient of the coveted honor is Elsa Smith’s Element Collar necklace, which was awarded the “red dot: best of the best,” given out for outstanding design quality by an eminent panel of jurors from a pool of 4,433 design submissions.

The necklace in question features a simple yet sophisticated carbon fiber design with a snakeskin-like texture. Embedded within are tiny specs of diamonds to give it a regal look. The ergonomically designed Element Collar is a style statement in itself! The collar will be displayed at the red dot design museum’s four-week special exhibition “Design on stage – winners red dot award: product design 2011” at the Aalto Theater, Essen opera.
