The city of lights is shining brighter, and not only because of the recently celebrated wedding of Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas. Paris continues to draw our attention as Gucci opens up its first-ever high-end jewellery boutique. This boutique is unlike the collection of stores flocking Champs-Élysées. Occupying center-stage at Palace Vendome, the setting is almost surreal! The collection at the store is dedicated to an exquisite range of jewellery designed by Alessandro Michele, creative director of Kering group’s leading label.
Called Hortus Deliciarum, the extraordinary collection entails over 200 unique Italian-crafted pieces embedded with coloured gems that Michele has sourced out personally. The stones entail honey-coloured imperial topazes, pink topazes, green tourmalines, mandarin garnets, white diamonds, pink and blue sapphires, iridescent opals and yellow beryls. The theme of the collection by extraordinaire Alessandro Michele is inspired by three primary themes; eternal love, the animal kingdom and solitaires.
Brimming with magnificence and splendour, the interiors of the store resemble no other. Jewels are displayed in deep wood cabinets upholstered in faded green satin, resonating the brilliance of the gemstones.
“For this project, Alessandro Michele has delved into the depths of his eclectic imagination, picking out designs that are dear to him and are now part of the canon of [Gucci’s] iconography,” stated the label in a press release.
