“The Spirit of Beauty” exhibition explores 250 objets d’art from Van Cleef & Arpels and others

They say beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder, but in the second decade of the new millennium, you can see “The Spirit of Beauty” on display too! Well, at least that what the Mori Arts Center Gallery wants you to believe. They will be showcasing over 100 years of creating jewelry and precious stones by Van Cleef & Arpels through the prestigious retrospective exhibition “The Spirit of Beauty.” Aptly borrowing its name from the famous Van Cleef & Arpels clip created to resemble a fairy, the exhibition will remain open in Tokyo until the 17th January 2010 and later proceed on a worldwide tour. The exhibition is said to be an experience in itself.

Orchestrated by Patrick Jouin, the 1,000-square meter Mori Arts Center, the exhibition is set around four themes, i.e. The Spirit of Nature, The Spirit of Elegance, The Spirit of Adventure and Incarnations. It will showcase over 250 pieces of selected jewels, timepieces, fashion accessories and objets d’art, from their Private Collection, and other private international collections. The entry fee for the exhibition is set at 1,200 yen for adults, 1,000 yen for students and 500 yen for children 4 and older.
