French jewelry house Van Cleef & Arpels is adding a splash of color to its existing Perlée collection with six new intensely colored rings. Whether as decorative elements or sources of inspiration in their own right, golden beads have continued to be symbolic of Van Cleef & Arpels’ collection. They inspired the Perlée collection’s joyfully feminine style in 2008 and now the Maison have reinvented them for its latest playful and colorful Perlée Couleurs collection.
Delicate and unusual, the six new rings in the Perlée Couleurs collection entwines around the fingers with precious materials. The rings are handcrafted in yellow gold with the addition of a natural stone (either onyx, malachite, tiger’s eye, carnelian or turquoise).
The jewelry house has been using the technique of golden beading since the 1920’s, whose reference can be seen in the Moroccan-inspired Couscous collection in 1948, the Twist and Alhambra creations, first launched in the 1960s. The six new rings can be worn individually or combined with the Maison’s other offerings, such as the Cosmos collection.
