World’s most expensive pacifier worth $85,000 is made of platinum

Russell and Case Jewelers have given new meaning to the term ‘born with a silver spoon in your mouth’ their version is a solid platinum dummy pacifier that costs $85,000. Created by Jeweler Matt Case, the ridiculous pacifier was displayed at the UK Baby and Toddler Show in Liverpool. The pacifier is being touted as the ‘world’s most expensive’ pacifier, makes the original titleholder a white gold and diamond one that cost $17,000, look cheap. While talking about the project, Mr. Case said, “’We wanted to make something that would stand out and something that was unique, that’s why we decided to take an everyday object and put our own spin on it, so the platinum dummy was born.”

The pacifier weighs over 250g and is made of pure platinum. Generally, a dummy is an imitation of an object meant as a practical substitute; I sincerely doubt the practicality of a 250gram pacifier. However it might work as a novelty item or a pacifier for a celebrity baby.
