Bandra has a new luxurious destination, the Big Door. A distinctive store that brings to Mumbai fantastic Indian art, offering the best of Indian jewellery, handcrafted home decor and heritage collectibles.
Located at the foot of Pali Hill, this 7,500 square foot store, owned by Vivek and Sunita Gupta spreading over two floors. Inspired by traditional doors that were used in havelis, forts and palaces of India, the store houses Mughal, Nizam and Rajput-inspired jewels, and interior alternates from around the country—silver furniture inspired from the Raj period, marble fountains and jalis, traditional pichwais from Rajasthan, bronze work from south India, Persian calligraphic fauna, antiques and intricate woodwork.
The only store in Mumbai that will customise something as unique as doors and ceilings, also houses showpieces, artifacts and statues that are sourced from Udaipur and appeal to a distinctly traditional design aesthetic. It has precious and semi-precious jewellery by Ravi Jewels in Jaipur, inspired from the times of Mughal, Rajput and Nizam; pieces in polkis and jadau, silver and gold in intrinsic designs will grab your attention. They also undertake customization of jewellery here. The Big Door promises rare pieces in jadau, silver, kundan, tribal gold and several other styles.
