A calling for Mumbai’s Wine Connoisseurs at Sofitel’s “Vinothéque”

Considering Mumbai’s brimming with wine epicureans, we’re not entirely amused that Sofitel launched it’s own “Vinothéque”! Set in Mumbai’s plush BKC zone, Sofitel Mumbai BKC has frequently been in the headlines for concocting experiences fitting for its guests and with “Vinothéque”, here’s yet another feather in their cap.

Befittingly titled as Vinothéque, their colossal wine library at swanky Artisan doesn’t fail to impress; especially the exhaustive selection of 320 bottles with over 80 International and local labels. Considering it’s a Sofitel brainchild, we could expect nothing less than a wine lover’s paradise, think of an intriguing fusion between old world and new world.

Biswajit Chakraborty, General Manager, Sofitel Mumbai BKC says, “Modern India has created changing tastes and habits. Wine has gained cultural acceptance, perceived as a ‘family drink’ that could be consumed at home or socially. At Sofitel Mumbai BKC we intend to be a repository of the best wines in the world and offer the Mumbaikar an exquisite choice of more than a thousand wines that he or she currently may not have experienced. Thus we are delighted to bring, Mumbai’s largest Wine library and collection, combining local and international favourites.”

Our personal favourites at Vinothéque are their vintage wines, especially Baron Philippe de Roth Chateau Mouton Rothschild Pauillac Bordeaux, France 2003 and the Grand Vin de Chateau Latour Premier Grand Cru Pauillac Bordeaux, France 2004. If you’re keen to experiment further, we’d recommend the Dom Pérignon, Brut and Louis Roederer, Cristal, Brut.
