Christian Louboutin’s stylish Autumn/Winter Collection 2017 with the hint of Parisian panache has created waves this season. The well known designer has taken a feminist approach to personal style with a selection of women’s and men’s shoes that cross gender lines effortlessly. Oxfords to loafers to booties all keeping in mind the modern woman.
Loafers stole the limelight for both the men’s and women’s collection. The new Monana, available in a trendy combination of white, black and red and an all black version, elevates and undermines the traditional penny loafer, with a fine hand stitched chain details and a “Loubi-Coin” believed to bring good luck. The masculine version of Monono, this modern silhouette brings a hint of academia to the season.
Their best selling loafer Laperouza makes a return with a signature gold bullion embroidered Louboutin crest. Fine embroidery takes centre stage on Perou Corazon and smoking slipper Mi Corazon, with its hand embroidered rich rouge and gold cannetile.
Lug soles are seen in the women’s collection, across a range of dynamic oxfords and chalet ready booties. The rubber soles, produced with the men’s version are adapted for lightness and flexibility, with a flattering shape specially designed for a woman’s foot. The shoes have refined artisanal details including broguing and light ornamentation, intricate floral motifs inspired by Moorish murals in laser cut patent calf contrast to a crosta suede base. The shoes boast of luxurious shearling linings, fur trim and spike embellishments.
