Deepika Padukone becomes the first Bollywood actor to star and slay a global Louis Vuitton campaign

Deepika Padukone seems to be wearing the roller skates of success; the tall superstar shows no signs of slowing down what with her recent felicitation at the Crystal Award at the World Economic Forum for her contribution to mental health awareness and now she’s become the first Bollywood actor to star in a global Louis Vuitton campaign. The queen of Bollywood is clearly gearing to take over the international fashion scene as she joins Nicolas Ghesquière’s (creative director, women’s collections for Louis Vuitton) roster of cool kids from across the world. She will be seen in Louis Vuitton’s pre-fall 2020 campaign with the likes of Sophie Turner, Emma Roberts, Lea Seydoux, Chloe Grace Moretz, Alicia Vikander and a few others. Deepika along with some 24 other poster girls and boys will star in Louis Vuitton’s renditions of pulp horror movies and books. Padukone sends a chill down the spine with her cold, mystical expressions and the demonic face lurking in the background. in her ‘Don’t Turn Around’ poster, a fiction thriller by Michelle Gagnon.

While we love the whole idea and setting of the campaign you can’t help but swoon over her checkered black and white dress which is stylishly teamed with a grey overcoat, mini belt bag and a pair of green quilted boots that are a clear winner.  This is a big deal as it not only puts the actress on the map but also indicative of the burgeoning influence of India’s luxury audience. Kudos Deepika!
