Review: We try the Ultimate Unlimited Dim Sum Lunch at Town Hall Mumbai

The eclectic interiors set the stage for a ravishing culinary experience

There’s nothing better than opening up a bamboo steamer basket after basket, filled with everything from dumplings to buns and baos.Few foods bring me as much unbridled joy as dim sum. I can never stop at one when it comes to these bite-sized pockets of perfection. From the aromas of the crispy, piping hot insides to its first bite that teases the taste-buds, it’s quite a culinary journey when it comes to dimsums. So when one of my favourite Pan-Asian restaurants, Town Hall Mumbai introduced a Ultimate Unlimited Dim Sum Lunch, I had to put it to test.

Enter the 150-seater located on the ground floor of the Lodha World Towers and you see a massive bar, a sushi counter by the side, old Air India adverts for the first flight from Bombay to London, rattan-style chairs and even installation of CST’s façade, made entirely of golden screws. The eclectic interiors set the stage for an amazing culinary experience.

The stellar Beetroot & Mixed Vegetable dimsum

Coming to the food, we tried some binge-worthy dim sums and baos and couldn’t get enough of them. Our top picks include the Beetroot & Mixed Vegetable dimsum-stellar flavours of beetroot that are a melt-in-the-mouth affair. We also heartily recommend the Chicken & Spinach dimsum in Spicy Sauce, the heavenly Prawn Scallion with XO Sauce and Spinach Bok Choy & Corn. Our server shared that another crowd-favourite is the Shanghai Style Pan-Fried and the Broccoli & Water Chestnut-both stunning flavour bombs. Another culinary star is the delectable baos like Tofu, Asparagus & Cucumber in Denyaku Bao and the perfectly-spiced, crunchy Grilled Teriyaki Chicken Bao.

The Chicken and bell pepper dimsums

You can also top off the ever-indulgent dim sum feast with a chilled mocktail/cocktail or something sweet with their Dessert of the Day. The restaurant is allowing patrons to add these options for just INR 99 each! So if you are one of those that can’t get enough of the perfect pillowy dim sums, Town Hall is the place to be. Like us, you will leave this place starry-eyed over the culinary perfection of the dimsums.
