With much ado and fanfare, Sofitel Mumbai BKC in association with Gurkha Cigars launched its Cigar Lounge at Artisan. The glittering ceremony had the lounge being inaugurated by Mr Anish Trivedi, a well-known name in the entertainment industry and a cigar lover himself, in the presence of other eminent personalities.

The diverse guest list was privy to some of the finest cigars along with exquisite glasses of single malts. The Cigar Lounge opens out to a lush, beautifully manicured garden where the guests were seen enjoying their cigars.
The most unique feature of this Cigar Lounge is Gurkha’s “His Majesty’s Reserve” (HMR). His Majesty’s Reserve is a rare and special medium full bodied cigar and also is known to be the world’s most expensive cigar. HMR is infused with a 40 yea old Louis XIII Cognac that costs $3,000 a bottle and an entire bottle is used to make one box of HMR cigars.

Cellar Reserve uses the finest 15 year old tobacco and comprises of an oily Criollo 1998 wrapper that combines an aged Dominican, Olor binder with a 15 year filler. These cigars are packed in unique wooden boxes that aesthetically evoke a maturing wine barrel at the lounge. Cigar lovers at the lounge also partook in rolling up blends of ten other premium labels under the Gurkha umbrella. The flavours, texture and blends were appreciated by all present.
