Flyers can now personalize their meals with TajSATS and Air India’s new fine dining venture ‘Table Set-Up’

Starting 11th of July, Air India in collaboration with premier airline catering company TajSATS will be going the gourmet way. In a bid to enhance the on board dining experience, the catering company will launch a new in-flight fine dining initiative called the ‘Table Set-Up’. This unique and interesting concept allows passengers to first examine and taste dishes available on the menu before ordering hereby, enabling diners to personalize their on-board meals to best suit to their palate.

The mouth-watering menu created by Chef Satish Arora, Director – Food Production at TajSATS includes classics like Tian of Chicken with Waldorf Salad, Mozzarella Caprese with Pesto Sauce, Seared Jalapeno Fish Fillet, Kashmiri Pulao, Ratatouille Lasagne and Dal Makhani among others. The delicious dessert section too boasts of old favorites such as Baked Blueberry Cheesecake and Shah Gulab Jamoon in Orange Phirni. The delectable menu will also feature other signature menus, multi-course meals and kid-friendly offerings.

Chef Arora is of the opinion that the elaborate menu and innovative concept will go a long way in elevating on board dining, he said, “With the introduction of this concept, Air India will adopt a more pleasant and elaborate dining experience that will be far different from the traditional meal offering. The ‘Table set-up’ has been conceptualised to provide first and business class guests the opportunity to savour tailor-make dishes based on their individual tastes and preferences. This concept will help both Air India and TajSATS go the extra mile in presentation and service.”

The concept which was exclusively crafted keeping in mind the needs and requirements of first and business class flyers will be launched for the first time on the Air India 787 Boeing Dreamliner on the Delhi-London route. It will then gradually be incorporated onto other select long haul flights such as the ones travelling to London, Paris, Milan etc. Ranjiv Ramanathan, Chief Operating Officer, TajSATS, expressing his excitement over the venture stated that he was happy to tie up with “India’s oldest airline to design and deliver a fresh and innovative on-board meal experience to guests.”
