In a first of its kind Gucci’s new app now lets users try on shoes through Augmented Reality

What if we told you, you could try on a pair of Gucci sneakers right in the comfort of your own home, would you believe us?  You absolutely should! Because as of the 26th of June, The Gucci App, through augmented reality technology, has started enabling its users to do exactly that!

Customers of the fashion giant, will now have the chance to virtually “try on” its classic Ace sneakers from anywhere in the world and also interact with the newest models of the silhouette that are still only scheduled for release!

Long-time lovers of Gucci will immediately recognize the Ace as one of the timeless creations from the brand. And now, with its ever-changing decorations, the sneaker has sort of morphed into a canvas for the fashion powerhouse to demonstrate its more edgy and eclectic side. 

Abled by smart and efficient technology, all one needs to do to try on a pair of sneakers virtually is browse the app for a design that catches their fancy, point their mobile camera towards their feet and voila! You’ve just tried on a pair of shoes! As an added bonus, the app also provides fun, special stickers and wallpapers to complement the sneakers and allows users to click and share images on social media as well.

Belarus-based Wannaby is the one we have to thank for this kickass technology which is currently only available on iOS and via link through gucci.com.
