Lamborghini introduces Huracan Evo RWD in India at Rs 3.22 crore

Lamborghini has launched the Huracan Evo RWD in India with a price tag of Rs 3.22 crore (ex-showroom, India). The new rear-wheel-drive supercar made its international debut in the first week of January; by bringing it in India in the same month of its global launch, Lamborghini has demonstrated its growing focus on the country. The Huracan Evo RWD will be sold alongside the all-wheel-drive variant of the Evo and the Spyder version, which are priced at Rs 3.73 crore and Rs 4.1 crore, respectively. Replacing the pre-facelift rear-wheel-drive Huracan, the Evo RWD is powered by the 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 engine; however, the output has been increased by 40hp over its predecessor, taking the total horsepower figure to 610. But it should be noted that the Evo RWD has 50 horsepower less than the supercar’s all-wheel-drive variant. Thanks to the lack of driveline to the front, the Huracan Evo RWD is 33kg lighter than the AWD sibling. Lamborghini claims a top speed of 325kph for the RWD and a 0-100kph sprint time of 3.3sec.

Lamborghini says the RWD variant is for the driving purists who love the balance and character of rear-wheel-driven high-performance cars. The Italian marque also says the Lamborghini Performance Traction Control System (P-TCS) with Strada, Sport and Corsa drive modes have been specifically tuned for the variant along with Dynamic Steering system to increase driver feedback. During the supercar’s international launch, Lamborghini’s Chairman and CEO Stefano Domenicali said: “The Huracán EVO rear-wheel-drive puts the car in the driver’s hands: the driving experience is delivered by the hardware. This car reminds the driver of Lamborghini’s pure engineering origins: the driver is at the center of the Huracán EVO RWD’s performance, with unfiltered feedback and an emotive and more engaging driving experience controlled by the pilot.”
