Vacheron Constantin brings the new Métiers d’Art Les Univers Infinis creations to India. Inspired by the work of Dutch artist Cornelis Escher, pays tribute to the graphic art of tessellation.
The newly launched series translates to “The Infinite Universe,” and features a graphic expression on watch dials made famous by Escher: Tessellation. A part of the second chapter in a collection presented in 2012 at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie in Geneva; the new Métiers d’Art Les Univers Infinis trilogy uses the technique of periodic paving to create a strikingly hypnotic effect. Horseman watch is nor of the beautiful Vacheron Constantin trilogy was executed by applying engraving and mother-of-pearl marquetry on the gold base. The main goal of the marquetry artist is to fit two diametrically opposing materials. In this particular case, Ottoman horsemen are cut out from gold and mother-of-pearl to be put together on the gold base, like a puzzle.
Other dials available in the Metiers d Art Les Univers Infinis collection are completely unique and portray different themes. Angel Watch depicts a face of between angels and demons, Lizard watch is inspired by one of Eschers lithographs.
Available at Vacheron Constantin boutiques in Mumbai and New Delhi, these limited edition of 20 individually numbered pieces for each modelis priced at INR 78 Lakhs.
