Maserati 2018 Quattroporte GTS: The epitome of performance mated with luxury

We recollect the epitome of sheer power clubbed precisely with exclusive design tweaks embedded on the signature four-wheels when we talk about those masterpieces from the Italian car makers!

Maserati, the Italian carmaker recently launched the much anticipated 2018 Quattroporte GTS in India at a starting price of Rs. 2.7 crore (Ex-Showroom Delhi). The company claims it to be a performance car and the fastest luxury sedan at its stable and will be available in two trims – 2018 Quattroporte GTS GranLusso and the GranSport.

To focus on the figures ousted by this Italian beauty, the flagship Quattro is mated to the GTS version with a 3.8- litre twin-turbo V8 mill. This beefy engine puts out a maximum mighty power of 530 hp and peaks the torque to 710 Nm at very low rpm ranging from 2,250-3,500 in the overboost mode. The GTS thrusts from 0-100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds and tops to a maximum speed of 310 km/h. The eight-speed ZF automatic transmission in the Quattroporte has the auto-adaptive software, through which the transmission modifies its shift patterns according to driving style for a personalised driving experience.

Moving on, to note the many features and plush amenities at the disposal of the owner of this Quttroporte GTS, Maserati has equipped this saloon with a range of hallmark features like- The 8.4-inch Maserati Touch Control Plus (MTC+) unit placed at the centre of the Quattroporte dashboard, and a choice between two exceptional audio systems – The powerful 900-watt, 10-speaker Harman Kardon Premium Sound system fitted as standard, and the new generation Bowers & Wilkins Surround Sound system features fifteen speakers and a 1,280-watt amplifier for those looking for ultimate sound acoustics. The MTC+ could be operated via the multi-touchscreen, the rotary control in the central console, or through voice commands. The system also features both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto mirroring functions, along with the Wi-Fi option.

The luxury sedan is also equipped with adaptive full LED headlights with glare-free high-beam assist, six airbags and active headrests to ensure safety.

The GranLusso trim offers exclusive exterior refinements with a discreet front spoiler, chrome bumper inserts, body-coloured side skirts and GranLusso badges on the wings. The car also boasts 20-inch Mercurio light alloy wheels with black brake callipers.

The GranSport is committed more on the dynamic style with sharp sculpted angles for the central front and side intakes, and a lower section equipped with aerodynamic splitters. The centre spoiler and side inserts don the Black Piano finish. This trim is also offered with the optional Exterior Carbon Package which features a carbon finishing for the exterior door mirrors, door handles and B-pillar cover along with the profile of the front bumper.
