We can almost buy anything by just a click of a button. From shoes, to groceries and even couture garments. But, not even in our wildest dreams, we imagined, that we can actually order a cutting chai online. The new Chotu Chiawala online service, that actually beats the world class coffee chains in India, lets you have the famous Mumbai tea by just a click.
An initiative by Zepo.in, an eCommerce website development platform, Chotu Chaiwala is an idea, which believes Mumbaikars have always loved their tea, and that is the reason why thousands of chaiwalas line the streets everyday to serve the city its favorite drink. After being fascinated by the chaiwalas of Mumbai for so long, Zepo decided to support them by getting them to sell online so they could reach a much wider audience. They tied up with 4 different chaiwalas in Bandra to start off and started operations in May.
Nearly a month ago, the site was made live and till date more than 50 orders have already been registered. They currently deliver in 4 locations within Bandra, i.e. Waterfeild road, Linking road, National college and Post office. Moreover, its just not delivering chai, you can select the duration of your subscription along with the time you want it. A subscription of one month would cost you Rs 280 or you could also subscribe for one week or two weeks which would cost you Rs 70 and Rs 140 respectively.
Chotuchaiwala.com is an initate to keep Mumbai’s ‘chuski’ sprits high. The number of orders on the website is growing by the day and ChotuChaiWala plans to expand to South Mumbai and North Mumbai pretty soon!
