SoBo gourmands (and cocktail connoisseurs too), we have some delicious news for you – Atria mall is now home to Baraanaa – a self-styled ‘world cocktail bar and kitchen’.
We went there for dinner last weekend and we have to say, we were pleasantly surprised to find the restaurant stay true to its name! Especially with its specially-curated cocktail menu.
Inspired by the party culture from around the world the vast bar menu left us spoilt for choice and we ended up ordering a couple of cocktails instead of just one. No regrets there! We loved Sweden inspired, Jokkmokk Kiss (the pairing of white chocolate and vodka is flawless) and the exotic Tokyo Thriller made with strong sake and pandan-infused tequila. If you’re a fan of the classics – the Wisconsin Spice Old Fashion is the one for you.
And if you’re more into digging in than drinking up, you’ll be happy to know that the food on offer was as innovative as the drinks. Our favorite was the succulent Pan-Asian Veggie Burger (the crispy lotus stem chips and wasabi mayo served alongside were to-die-for too).
The intention and idea behind merging timeless recipes with new-age ingredients were that of Head Chef, Rahul Kulkarni’s, “My goal was to come up with innovative ideas for food and drinks that feed the soul”, he says.
Complete with bold, eclectic décor, foot-tapping music, and an endless cocktail menu — we know exactly where we’re going to be next weekend. Do you?
