Do we really need a Kareena Kapoor to promote the swanky Jaguar XJ?

We believe that a Jaguar car is one of the few things that does not need Bollywood to make it more appealing, for those who contradict here is a brand new ad for the Jaguar XJ which has Kareena Kapoor sizzle in the back seat of the luxury sedan in an Alexander McQueen number. Owned by Tata Motors, the British luxury carmakers recently roped in the gorgeous Bollywood actress to endorse the Jaguar XJ sedan in a bid to reach out to newer audiences. Other steps undertaken by the company to expand its clientele include increasing investments for R&D, improving manufacturing capacity, launching new cars on different avenues and becoming more social media savvy. Other notable celebrities to have been signed on by the world-class brand include Ben Kingsley, Lana Del Ray, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jose Mourinho, David Beckham, Tom Hiddleston and Mark Strong amongst several others.

The swanky Jaguar XJ was initially going to be imported into the country as a CBU (Completely Built Unit) when the company had a change of heart last month. The now, locally-assembled vehicle will be priced at Rs. 92.10 lakhs hereby giving the car a reasonable price advantage. The 2500 kg beauty will now be competing with other luxury sedans such as the Mercedes S350 CDI, BMW 7 Series and Audi A8 L which are all also strategically priced at Rs. 1.07 crores, Rs. 92.90 lakhs and Rs. 1.12 crores respectively.

In India, the Jaguar XJ is powered by a 3.0 liter diesel engine which generates a max power of 275 PS as well as a peak torque of 600Nm. The sleek model also manages to go from a 0 to 100 in 6.4 seconds flat.
