Review: Immersing ourselves in Disha Patani’s Wellness itinerary at The Westin Mumbai Garden City

Wellness – it’s such a buzzword. Everyone wants to live their best lives, more often than not through the filter of a lens. But what lies beneath? Behind the façade of social media, what is there that we could be doing to live better – but in a smart, more meaningful way? Self-care, self-optimisation, me-time… However you phrase it, taking time out of your day to focus on yourself is one of the most important ways to find balance. I delved deeper into this during my stay at The Westin Mumbai Garden City where I experienced Disha’s Wellness itinerary.

For those who don’t know: Westin appointed Disha Patani as the wellbeing advocate for the brand since she has been an open advocate of healthy eating and yoga. It is built around Westin’s Six Pillars of Well-Being: Sleep Well, Eat Well, Move Well, Feel Well, Work Well, and Play Well. Being a wellness junkie myself, I was looking forward to experience it.

Suite dreams
Check-in here was a breeze with a refreshing elixir to melt away my stresses and some welcome treats to spoil me rotten. I was put up in an Executive Club room which with its spacious, swanky low-key but classy interiors, a gorgeous bath-tub and picture-perfect city-views was a beauty you’d not want to check-out of. And the marshmallow-soft Westin beds are the cherry on the cake. After all, the philosophy of Sleep Well is well-embedded in the offerings.

My overall experience
Check-in was followed by lunch at Prego where I gorged on Godfather Pizza which is literally the Godfather of pizzas in terms of its nuanced taste. The tiramisu with nutella and pistachio was one of the best I’ve had. I noticed that Prego as a restaurant has its antics. For instance, when I told them I want nothing, they literally got me ‘Nothing’ written on a plate. “Interesting,” I told myself!

Kangan – Indian Specialty Restaurant

I enjoyed some downtime by the pool and guilt-free snacks and juices to savour. Dinner at Kangan was the best aspect of my food experiences here. You can most definitely trust Chef Danish to tease your taste-buds with the most lip-smacking Indian food. From melt-in-the-mouth Galouti kebabs, great Dal Kangan and aromatic, delicately-flavoured biryanis, he ensures that restaurant remains the crowning glory of the property.

The next morning was dedicated to a designated Run Westin route around the property followed by Westin Workout where I pushed my body to the point of flexibility. Rejuvenating wellness juices kept me energetic and hydrated throughout it all. A massage at the Heavenly Spa followed and I ready for a swim session that ensured I swam away from my stresses.

Final thoughts
By the end of my stay here, I was raving about Disha’s Wellness itinerary which is not about punishing yourself with hard-core detox programs or starvation. It was about being mindful about the way we sleep, eat, play, move, work and feel. Mentally and physically, I felt nourished in equal measure. Probably, that’s what makes it tick all the right boxes.
