Review: Inside the extravagant ‘B’ Juhu

A look at ‘B’ Juhu and it will give you the feel of a radiant, high energy bar with marble accents. Once you walk inside and give the food to test, it will reinforce the belief that a high-energy bar can whip up great food too. We headed off to try it on a week-day and were surprised to see the place still full-to-brim.

Interior impression
This new dining venue boasts of three distinct dining areas, with one alfresco seating area and two public dining rooms. As we entered the space, we were greeted by a lively alfresco area covered with an overhead trellis of climbing vines, giving the place a garden-bistro feel with polished wooden flooring adding an accent of luxury. The central dining room is highlighted in grey stone and white marble with grey plush velvet seating that gives the area a sophisticated vibe. Glass and mirrors, with appropriate lighting, impart an expansive appearance to this room. We loved the beautiful wrought iron chandelier which lends the space a Victorian feel.

Food factor
The resto-lounge specializes in Modern European cuisine. We started off with the Potato wasabi soup which was a creamy delight with a hint of wasabi and chives. From the Small Plates, we tried the Chicken & Black Olive. The Spanish black olive dust and paprika cream lent a delish flavour to this one. Next up was the Peri Peri Cottage Cheese. The pan seared cottage cheese was served with potato-stuffed corn, quinoa and peri-peri sauce. The cottage cheese here was so silken that you didn’t need to exert any effort to break it off. For the mains, Mixican Veg Grill boasts char grilled vegetables, tofu, Mexican rice, chipotle sauce is a yummy pick. We ended our meal with Berry Much which combined Red velvet sponge, baked cheesecake, strawberry compote, raspberry sorbet, candy floss and marinated strawberries rather deliciously and was like childhood served on a platter.

Our verdict
By the end of our meal, we loved not only the vibrant energy the place exudes but also the culinary delights and the knowledge and attitude of the staff. And of course, the extravagant interiors. If you’re here to party the night away, don’t miss the hangover-free cocktails. Given the delights and surprises this one packs in, we highly recommend it…
