TAG HEUER celebrates Grand Prix 2014 with Limited Edition watches

The world leader in high-end chronographs, TAG Heuer has collaborated with the Automobile Club de Monaco (ACM), the governing body of the iconic Grand Prix to launch the year’s limited edition watches. In association with the Formula One racing partner, McLaren Mercedes, the prestigious watchmaker, is refreshing its original link between racecars and watches, then crafted and perfected it, pushing it to an unprecedented level of luxury prestige.

Every motor racing world champion from Juan Manuel Fangio to Jenson Button has been part of the TAG Heuer legend, and this year the company has launched three prestigious designs.

A beautiful full black watch by the swiss maker, the TAG Heuer MONACO Calibre 6 is completely in line with the Monaco universe. The new edition offers black titanium carbide-coated case (with special fine-brushed and polished finishings) and crown, black dial with white luminescent markers and high-contrast red small second hand, and a black sub-counter with opalin finishing. The perforated calfskin leather strap with red lining adds that final touch of masculine swagger. This limited edition beauty is available exclusively from May to September 2014 for $3,800(Rs. 2,25,000).

The first sports chronograph designed for professional drivers, the TAG Heuer CARRERA Calibre 1887 Chronograph is the standard-bearer of the watchmaker’s unrivaled motor sports heritage. This newest edition with Monaco Grand Prix has official logo is engraved on the sapphire caseback, along with the limited edition number (0001/2,500). Beneath the glass beats TAG Heuer’s 100% in-house manufactured Calibre 1887 movement. The fetching dial is in black, with two grey stripes and a red line. The hands and hand-applied Arabic numerals are in special “black gold” plating. The 43mm case is in sandblasted Titanium Grade 2 with black titanium carbide coating. The last variety from the swiss watchmaker is the TAG Heuer CARRERA “Dashboard”. Taking cues from Heuer’s pioneering dashboard timers and the TAG Heuer Carrera Mikrogirder, this watch is a winner of the “Aiguille d’Or”— the highest award in Swiss Watchmaking—at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève in 2012. The 45mm case is in polished, fine-brushed and sandblasted steel and titanium, with black titanium-carbide coated fixed bezel and sides. At $6,900 (Rs.4,07,000), this watch comes in a soft-touch black alligator strap, with black titanium folding clasp and safety pushbuttons.
