Through his paintings, the artist tells the story of the people of Mumbai – their hardships, their daily struggles as well as their infectious enthusiasm and optimism. Done in acrylic on canvas, most of Karamble’s works throw light on some of the otherwise easily recognisable spots in the city such as Crawford Market, Mangaldas Market, CST, Gateway of India etc. Describing the city of dreams, Karambele says, “The ongoing and continuous struggle of every person who resides in Mumbai has always fascinated me. Here, people live in different conditions and deal with all sorts of problems. I wanted to capture all this in my works in my own unique style and technique.”
