If there is one thing that is good about summers, it is Mangoes! Available in abundance, the king of fruit rules every home in the nation. While, there is a mango loving sector, which believes in only alphonsoes, there is some who actually believe in an ultra luxurious form of this fruit, which might well cost more than a Louis Vuitton!

A pair of mangoes grown in southern Japan have sold for a record Y300,000 (₹1.5 lacs) at the fruit’s first auction of the season.The highly-prized mangoes were among a batch of 231 cases containing pairs of the fruit sold at a wholesale market in Miyazaki prefecture, in southern Kyushu. The prized mangos were sold under the Taiyo no Tamago (“Egg of the Sun”) label, which famously has rigorous criteria, with all fruits required to weigh at least 12oz and have high sugar content.
