Bentley special edition of the latest Bond book Carte Blanche is up for grabs

James Bond the super spy shares a long standing fascination for Bentley cars. And to celebrate the release the new Bond book by Jeffery Deaver titled Carte Blanche, publisher Hodder & Stoughton has joined hands with Bentley Motors for a special edition luxury copies of the new novel on pre-booking basis. Limited to 500 editions only, the book presented in a special case has been designed by Bentley Senior Designer Brett Boydell. Limited to 500 copies only, each of these collectibles will be priced at £1,000 ($1,650) on pre-order and will be delivered after the date of publication.

The concept of the book draws its inspiration from the new Bentley Continental GT, Bond’s chosen ride through the set in the deserts of Dubai to keep in tandem with the novel in question. The case has been cast in polished aluminum, reminiscent of the posh aerodynamic and curvy exteriors of the vehicle. The book will be bound in white Nappa leather, and a Pillar Box red edging, just like the car’s interiors. On the inside, the book’s title, author’s name and the Bentley logo have been embossed on the front and foil-blocked onto the spine. The book has been printed using black and red text that too on ivory paper, that spot matching red leather end papers.
The press release further reveals,”The pages are expertly cut and trimmed to reflect the handcrafted techniques of the Bentley construction process. As with the other details of the special edition, the colors are carefully selected from the Bentley range. The book sits on a base of black anodized aluminum, chosen not to mark the white leather. In one last twist, playing on the idea of an agent being given Carte Blanche, is one of the most dramatic features of the design: a die-cut bullet hole that pierces pages of the book. Hidden within the pages is a single polished 9mm bullet, individually marked with a number distinct to each copy, making the edition truly unique.” For details, click here.
