Concept bookstore invites booklovers for rides on London’s waters

Hand-me-down bookstores are exciting as it is, with the smell of old books and the excitement of not knowing what treasures are waiting to be found; but a recent discovery of a floating bookstore has us more excited than a kid in a candy store! London’s Regent Canal is home to Word on the Water – a one of a kind second-hand bookstore that gives customers the thrill of experiencing the serene sway of the water while they look for their perfect read. The Word on the Water boat has been plying up and down the canal and delighting customers since 2011, which is when the concept came to life.

The store not only boasts of over 1000 titles, but also has artists and musicians occasionally perform for their customers on the boat’s rooftop! In keeping up with a typical bookstore, the boat also houses a decent amount of furniture, armchairs, racks and shelves (of course!), not compromising on space and design, to allow for customers to even sit down for a quick read. The unique establishment could probably be the best haven for booklovers that London has to offer, or just a great way for commoners to enjoy a perfectly good sunny afternoon. As for us, this may as well be London’s most famous attraction!
