Dare to stare at the large crystal-studded Iris by Swarovski Crystal Palace

The Swarowski Crystal Palace completes ten years in 2011 and has brought out some exquisite designs for us to enjoy in this period. Remember the showpiece for Milan 2008, or the 2009 Design District Miami entrance installation, even the Stella chandelier last year? Well, for this year’s Swarowski Crystal Palace, the company has collaborated with London-based design duo Fredrikson Stallard at Design Miami/Basel to create a stunning installation called IRIS. The artwork comprises four pieces of the fuse Swarovski crystal with “different metal treatments,” like gold leaf and corten. Each of the four parts is a massive 1.5 meters in diameter and is studded with more than six hundred hand-cut crystals. Quite soothing to the eyes, despite its magnanimous size!
